The Strasburg Borough Police Department has joined the Pink Patch Project 2021 campaign!
Originating with the Los Angeles County Police Chief’s Association in 2013, the Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations combating this devastating disease.
Today, the Pink Patch Project has expanded to over 600 partner agencies throughout the world, including Police Departments, Sheriff’s Offices, Fire Departments and EMS agencies. These agencies have partnered together to combat breast cancer by emphasizing the importance of early detection and to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment.
During the month of October the SBPD will be proudly wearing special commemorative “pink” versions of our shoulder patch on our regular duty uniforms. The purpose being to stimulate conversation with the public to bring awareness to this effort. The SBPD will also be offering the commemorative “pink” patch for sale with all proceeds being donated to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition to “Find a cure now, so our daughters don’t have to.” Patches purchased in-person are $10.00 each and are available at the Strasburg Borough Office, Strasburg Borough Police Station and select local retailers. Patches can also be purchased on eBay, or via mail for $11.50 each. If you would like to purchase a patch via mail, please make checks payable to the Strasburg Police Officers Association (or S.P.O.A) for the total amount.
