INVITATION TO BID

SEALED BIDS are invited for the project described as PUMP STATION NO. 5 UPGRADES

The Project work will be performed under two contracts:  Contract One – General Construction Work and Contract Two – Electrical Work. 

BIDS are invited on a lump sum basis.

The Work for this project generally consists of all demolition, excavation, and installation work to convert an existing dry pit suction pumping station to a submersible pumping station with two new vaults and a new connection to the existing force main, with the bid alternates including lining the wet wells, and installing approximately 1,500-LF sanitary sewer line. Pump parts, accessories, and controls are to be owner-furnished and contractor-installed as described in the Contract Documents.

BIDS will be received by the STRASBURG LANCASTER COUNTY BOROUGH AUTHORITY until 10:00 A.M., prevailing time on July 8, 2020 via the PennBid electronic document and bid management website at https://pennbid.procureware.com.

      Census 2020 is here!  

Census 2020 is underway & it’s not too late to participate! 

Strasburg Borough’s response rate is at 79.6%, help us get to 100% by taking  a few minutes to fulfill this important task to help our community.

  Also, by filing online or by phone you will help reduce the need to send Census Takers door-to-door, which is scheduled to begin in August. 

Our state census results help determine how much federal funding PA receives.  Please take the time to complete your census so you and your family members will be counted!

Face Masks

The Strasburg Lions Club has generously donated face masks for the community. 

They may be picked up at the Strasburg Borough Office

M-F 7:30 a.m – 4:00 p.m, while supplies last.

The masks are assorted fabric patterns, have a metal nose band, and are machine washable.

 

A big THANK YOU to the Lions Club for all they do for our community!

Strasburg Borough Operations Update

We would like to assure our residents that the Strasburg Borough Office is still open & operating, however, due to the current COVID-19 situation and official orders there are modifications to our regular operations.  

Building access has been restricted, and we ask that all contact be made by phone or e-mail (lmboyd@strasburgboro.org). 

If you need to make a payment (TAX or WATER/SEWER) you may do so by mail or by placing your payment in our black drop box to the right of our front door.  Water/Sewer payments may also be made online.  

If you would like a receipt for your payment please include a self addressed, stamped envelope.

These restrictions have been made for the safety and health of you and your family, as well as, the safety and health of our employees and their families.  

Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail with any questions or needs.  Our office will continue to be staffed Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

We may have a new “normal”, but remember, “This too shall pass…”

The Police Department will operate as normal. 

Emergency calls will be answered by an officer.  Non-emergency calls for service may receive a phone response only. 

The prescription drug drop-off program is temporarily suspended. 

Residents may call the station directly at 717-687-7128 for non-emergencies or questions.

WATER/SEWER BILLING

Water/Sewer bills for the first quarter of 2020 were mailed on Monday, April 6, 2020.  

Payments were due Thursday, May 7, 2020.

If you have not paid your balance, you will be receiving a reminder letter by mail.  The Strasburg Borough Authority has chosen not to apply late fees to the 2020 1st quarter W/S bill.  Please make you payment ASAP.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation bill payments will be accepted by mail, online (click on the picture above), or our drop box to the right of the front door. 

Online payments can be made by credit card (with or w/o creating an account) or by e-check (must create an account & call the office for your access code).  There is a convenience fee for credit card payments and a $.50 fee for e-check payments.  Please call if you need assistance creating your account.

If you need to pay by cash you may get a money order or place your  payment in the black drop box to the right of our front door.  No change will be given; any excess payment will be credited to your W/S account.

If you need a receipt for your payment please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Reminder: Bills for residential rental units in the Borough are sent to the property owner of record, rather than to the tenant. 
It is the property owner’s responsibility to ensure that the bill is paid in full, on time, to the Strasburg Borough Authority.

What is Swift911??

Swift911 is the system we utilize to make automated phone calls, send texts, or e-mails to our residents in the event of an emergency or for sharing important information or dates. 

Examples of notices that may be sent out are;

Water emergency notices

Snow emergency notices

Street sweeping dates

or other information the Borough feels is important to get to as many of our residents as possible, and as quickly as possible.

Outdated medications cluttering up your cabinets??

The Strasburg Borough Police Department is a permanent drop off location to help residents

dispose of expired or unwanted medications in a safe and secure manner.

Residents may bring unwanted items to the Strasburg Borough Office,

Mon-Fri. 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
