Water Service Line Information & Inventory

In addition to performing routine maintenance and upgrades to our water treatment and distribution system in 2024, we will be taking steps to identify the types of service line materials used by each of our customers.

The U.S. EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Revision required us to create an initial water service line inventory for our system by October 16, 2024. This required inventory includes the Authority-owned side of the service line (from the water main to the curb box) and the customer-owned side of the service line (from the curb box to your home). We need your help to comply with this federal requirement and complete the customer-owned portion of the inventory.

We’re asking water customers to help us verify the material of the customer-owned portion of their water service line for the inventory. Service lines may be made of lead, copper, galvanized metal, or plastic.

Please take a picture of your water line where it enters your home/building and e-mail it to info@strasburgboro.org and use your street address for the subject of the message.

If you have already summited your photo, THANK YOU!

If you need assistance or have questions, please call the office at 717-687-7732.

Below are examples of the different materials used for service lines and how you can tell what material your line is.
