Strasburg Borough Council March 10, 2026 Municipal Brief
At the March 10, 2026 Strasburg Borough Council meeting, Borough Council approved the Historical Architectural Review Board Certificate of Appropriateness for 51 East Main Street, approved the payment of the bills, and approved requests for Strasburg Fire Police to assist at the Robert Fulton Fire Company Mud Sale on April 4, 2026, Refton Fire Company Mud Sale on June 27, 2026, and the Cycle & Semi Show on August 29, 2026.
The Borough Manager’s written report was reviewed, and the following items were discussed: 1) The stormwater contractor has two crews working on the project and hopes to have the majority of the East Main Street construction completed by the end of April and then move to the work on South Decatur Street. 2) The Authority accepted bids for the upgrade of Pump Station 2. 3) The audit is complete and he anticipates it will be presented at the April meeting. The Borough will be switching to use QuickBooks for the financial software. 4) The Brendle Tract received final approval from Strasburg Township. 5) He is working with the other municipalities on an updated Uniform Construction Code Board of Appeals municipal agreement. 6) He will attend the Lancaster County Association of Township Supervisors’ Spring meeting on March 31, 2026 and Council members were invited to attend with him.
The Police Chief reported 307 calls for service in February 2026. There were 2 criminal arrests, 10 other traffic arrests, 31 traffic warnings, 2 parking tickets, and 4 accidents. He also reported that they had a very successful annual “Coffee with a Cop” event on February 24, 2026 at Agape Café and Grille and thanked Agape Café and Grille, Benner Insurance, and Strasburg Marketplace for sponsoring the event. He also stated that two officers donated over 20 hours of their time to assist at the Strasburg Fire Company Mud Sale.
