Work started on the South Decatur Street portion of the stormwater infrastructure project. Two-thirds of the whole stormwater infrastructure project is now complete. There will be no work completed Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The contractor will continue work on Monday, installing infrastructure on South Decatur Street moving from the northern end to the southern end. Work is expected to be completed in late July. If you travel through Center Square you’ll notice the trees have been removed. This is due to the PennDOT required update to the ADA ramps. They need brought into compliance in all areas of the project on East Main and South Decatur Streets, including at Center Square.
The first two blocks of South Decatur Street will remain closed to through traffic. We appreciate the patience of South Decatur Street and surrounding development residents affected by the detour. Please exercise caution and patience when traveling in the detour area for your safety and for the safety of those working!
A Strasburg Borough staff member will be onsite at all times during the project. If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints, please contact the Borough Office at 717-687-7732 or e-mail Borough Manager, Steve Echternach, at echterns@strasburgboro.org.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during this project!
