1 First National Bank of Lancaster County. 2 story brick, erected 1966 with Colonial style architecture, on site of historic old Washington House Hotel.

7 “Massasoit Hall” in Center Square, erected in 1856. A large brick building, long the focal point of the town’s activities. The first floor is 11′ high, the second is 15′ and the third 10′. This building houses the I.O.O.F. meeting rooms. Carries a plaque with the date of 1856.

11 Small frame structure housing a commercial enterprise.

15-17 2 story, 19th century brick with water table. Houses a commercial enterprise and upstairs apartment.

21-23 “The Gruber-Sample House” C. 1765. The oldest documented brick house in Strasburg and early home of two of the village’s most notable citizens. Water table. Plaque

27 “The Sandstone House”, C. 1754 build by Jacob Fouts.2-story cut stone with central chimney. Originally had a pent roof. One-time “Spread Eagle Hotel”. Birthplace of Simon Cameron’s mother. Plaque.

33 Stone 2-1/2 story. Built C. 1786 by Jacob Fouts. Five bay limestone with central hall. Served as head Master’s house and dormitory for Strasburg Academy 1839 – 1860. Plaque.

4 “The Old Bank Building” in Center Square. An Italianate style commercial building. C. 1876. Once Housed display room for famous Bachman Furniture.
Contains business on first floor.

6 2 story brick 19th Century with dormer windows. Commercial first floor and apartments on 2nd floor.

8-10 C. 1789, 2 story brick erected by Jon Funk and early used as a tavern. Notable for its carved keystones in the stone arches over the windows and for a very fine late 19th Century storefront on the eastern side. Has water table.

12 2 story, late 19th Century brick residence.

14 2 story, early 19th Century brick. Commercial first floor and residence on second. Water table.

20 A 3-bay Georgian townhouse. C. 1793. Retains original iron hardware and shutters. Historically known as “The Duffield House”. Plaque.

24 Large 2 story brick. Victorian 1873. Spacious back yard with large trees. Plaque.

28 “The finest remaining Georgian brick townhouse in Strasburg”. Still retains much of original interior Woodwork and most of the fireplaces. Built C. 1793.

40 St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. Brick, “One of the finest examples remaining of Georgian meeting house style churches in Lancaster County”. C. 1806-1816.

48 Late 18th Century 2 story, three bay Georgian townhouse built on lot. 25″ boards in attic. “This is the house in which Mrs. Bernardo Black used John Funk’s portrait of Bishop Francis Asbury to cover a stove pipe hole during the summer when the stove was not needed”. Dr. Chas. Spotts in “They Called it Strasburg”. 1769. Plaque.

52 2-1/2 story, well constructed brick dwelling. 1905 Victorian. Tennis court and pool at rear.

56 2 story brick, mid-19th Century dwelling. Made from bricks from early historic structures. Fine trees in back.

102-104 2 story frame, double occupancy, mid-19th Century. Some small panes. Some restoration needed.

106 One of the oldest documented log houses in town. C. 1764. Standing at odd angle to street, indicating it was erected before the present road was laid out.

122-124 2 story, three-bay stone house. C. 1804, with a Mid-19th Century brick addition.

130 Build 19-3-05, known as the “Gonder Mansion”. Built by, and for Benjamin B. Gonder, one of the town’s most important turn-of-the-century figures. It is the town’s most lavish Victorian building. An extremely well preserved Queen Ann style architecture. Deep setback with stone wall at Sidewalk.

136-138 2 story brick, double house, with water table and brick band between first and second floors. Beautiful keystone above windows.

140 C. 1858. The Strasburg News Office since 1898. Much of the original printing equipment remains in the office and in use.

202 C. 1800. A five-bay stone house, now stuccoed. According to Mrs. J. Franklin Miller, of the Strasburg Weekly News, “during the winter of 1830-31, in part of this house in which Hoffman’s Store was located, discussions were held out of which came the Pennsylvania Public School System”. Very deep windows. Impressive and deep front door.

2 2-1/2 story brick hotel, now houses Swan Hotel.

8-10 C. 1790. A one-story stone blacksmith shop, built as an outbuilding for the Swan Hotel. Now houses Steven VanOrmer’s Cabinet Shop. Second building built as a log stable for the Swan Hotel. Acquired its central chimney when it was converted to a two-family dwelling c. 1830. Cited by Robert C. Bucher, Montgomery County authority on log houses, as “having interesting features”.

15 1-1/2 story, central chimney. Long house with steeply pitched “kicked” roof and interesting dormer windows. When this house was being repaired several decades ago, an inscription in German was found above the lintel of the door.

19-21 2 story brick factory building, late 19th Century. Home of famous Pequea Fishing Tackle plant. Now houses apartments.

23-25 2 story, double dwelling, mid-19th Century. Restored.
